Quantum Therapy, PC
TOOLS
Overview
I worked with Quantum Therapy PC, a local physical therapy clinic in Portland, Oregon, to redesign their website and strengthen their online presence. By reorganizing site structure, clarifying content, and implementing SEO optimization, their Google ranking improved from 35th to 4th place for myofascial release services.
The Challenge
Low Search Ranking
Ranking 35th place for key services meant missing out on potential clients actively searching for myofascial release treatment in Portland.
Outdated Web Presence
The website had outdated design and confusing navigation, making it difficult for visitors to find information and engage with the practice.
Limited Online Presence
No blog, social media integration, or modern SEO strategy meant the clinic wasn't discoverable when people needed their services most.
Design Approach
I redesigned the website on Squarespace with a focus on user experience and search visibility. I reorganized the site structure for clearer navigation, improved content hierarchy to highlight key services, and added strategic imagery to create emotional connection. I then optimized for local search by implementing SEO best practices, including keyword optimization, meta descriptions, and structured data to improve discoverability in search results.
Research & Discovery

This included reorganizing the navigation menu, optimizing educational content for clarity, and enhancing the overall user experience across desktop and mobile devices.

Key Takeaways
What I learned: I discovered the importance of comprehensive strategy over quick fixes. Julie initially asked only for SEO improvements, but I recognized that poor navigation and unclear content were equally limiting her growth. By taking a broader approach that combined UX redesign, content optimization, and SEO, I created much greater impact than SEO alone would have achieved.
Biggest lesson: Sometimes being a good UX designer means being an advocate for the user experience, even when it's not what the client asks for. Julie wanted SEO help, but I knew that improving search rankings wouldn't matter if visitors couldn't navigate her site or understand what she offered. By confidently recommending a website redesign alongside SEO, I addressed the real problems and doubled her business. Good SEO only works if users can actually use the website.
